📰 AI NEWS RECAP
"A White Collar Bloodbath"
"A white collar bloodbath."
That's the headline from last week.
AI fear mongering?
Or a sobering reality of what's to come from AI?
𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱
CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, said that HALF of entry-level white-collar jobs could be wiped out by AI by 2030.
And even though his company is creating AI that could wipe out these jobs...
He feels responsible to warn of what's coming, and is shocked that more aren't taking him seriously.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗺?
✅ He was VP of Research at OpenAI.
✅ He left OpenAI due to AI safety concerns.
✅ He co-founded Anthropic to build a safer AI.
✅ His company built one of the best models, Claude.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗺?
❌ Prior revolutions ultimately led to job growth.
❌ He might be hyping AI to get more funding.
❌ AI still makes mistakes (hallucinates).
❌ AI cannot perform end-to-end tasks by itself...yet.
I agree, all prior technological advancements resulted in job loss followed by massive job growth.
However, if AI automates jobs, what happens when it automates the jobs people plan to go to?
And, if it could automate jobs, couldn't it manage itself?
I agree, AI is "just a model".
And AI "just predicts the next word".
I agree, it cannot experience or be creative like humans.
But there's a non-zero probability someday AI could.
Here's what I see happening (beyond 2030):
𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲: "Star Trek" We live in a world of hyperabundance. Simple as that.
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲: "Elysium" or "In Time" We live in a permanent two class society. You're either rich or you're poor.
𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲: People will make money in the AI Gold Rush. The wealth gap widens, more solopreneurs, and remaining jobs require strategy, creativity, and higher level thinking.
Once the majority of mundane tasks are automated...
People will search for more purpose and meaning in life.
Human connection and experience will be in demand.
𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 🤔
Use these next two years to prepare.
Using ChatGPT won't be enough.
Upskill by automating your own tasks with AI.
Then show others how, to become an AI thought leader yourself.
While using AI to build a brand and business on the side.
And last but not least...
Double down on communication skills and ways to bring value through human experience.
Do this and you'll be just fine regardless what happens.
What will AI's impact on jobs be by 2030? |
UN study reveals women are three times more likely to lose jobs to AI than men. The gender gap stems from women's concentration in administrative and customer service roles that AI can easily automate, threatening economic equality worldwide.
Duolingo CEO backtracks on AI-first strategy after massive public outcry over human job cuts. He now emphasizes that AI will "augment, not replace" human workers following criticism of the company's plan to rely heavily on artificial intelligence.
Amazon coders report working harder and faster since adopting AI coding tools. Despite promises of easier workflows, developers say AI assistance has actually increased pressure and workload expectations from management.
Mistral launches Agents API, letting developers build AI assistants that can browse the web and use tools. The French AI company's new platform competes directly with OpenAI's assistants, offering function calling and multi-turn conversations.
Opera unveils Neon, the first AI-powered agentic browser that can chat, browse, and complete tasks autonomously. The experimental browser uses multiple AI models to understand web content and perform actions like booking flights or shopping.
UAE becomes first country to offer free ChatGPT Plus to all residents and citizens. The groundbreaking initiative provides premium AI access worth $240 annually, positioning the Emirates as a global leader in AI adoption.

Rick Rubin says vibe coding is the punk rock of coding:
“If you had something to say, you could say it. You didn't need the expertise.. just your idea and your ability to convey it.”
But most people still use AI to imitate. He's waiting for the moment it actually goes punk.
