AI Researcher Says AI Will Kill Us All

+ChatGPT Solves World's Hardest Math Problem! Or did they?

Stop making AI decisions in the dark.

Leadership is asking: are we getting value from AI? Which tools are worth the spend? Where are we exposed? Right now, most teams have no idea.

You get a complete picture of how your organization uses AI, automatically categorized into custom tasks and use cases.

You’ll see the projects being worked on, who’s using what tools, where AI investments are driving value, and where employees are engaging in risky behavior.

CIOs can rationalize spending and cut wasted licenses. CISOs can pinpoint where risk exists and neutralize it. AI committees can show exactly how their efforts are paying off.

Hello WKND AI Warriors!

What a week. The news hasn’t been this wild since Sam Altman was fired and rehired in one weekend!

Anthropic insiders say AI could kill us all by decade’s end, while one researcher resigned, another publicly agreed, and CEO Dario Amodei backed them both and urged the industry to slow frontier development.

Also, OpenAI says Astra solved the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize problem, while an NYU mathematician alleges the lab used his unpublished approach and pressured him over credit.

Plus, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang declared that AGI has arrived following GPT-6 Astra’s release, a claim that sounds especially convenient coming from the company selling the chips.

Oh yeah, OpenAI just launched finance and data agents aimed squarely at corporate teams, from creating valuation models to building dashboards through plain-English questions.

📰 AI NEWS RECAP

Imagine if Walmart and Kroger said that grocery stores were dangerous and needed regulation.

The regulation could stifle competition and put mom and pop stores out of business and leave people with only two options…Walmart and Kroger.

That’s what some are saying is happening right now in the AI space.

CEOs of OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) are calling for regulation, which could stifle progress and availability of open source models.

What happens if there are no or limited open source models?

Then we only have two options: ChatGPT and Claude.

Technically, we’d also have Google Gemini, SpaceX Grok, and Microsoft Copilot…but you get my point.

What do you think, will AI kill us all or is this fear mongering for regulatory capture?

Maybe its somewhere in the middle.

Here’s your weekly recap:

Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon quit, warning frontier labs are racing toward systems that could kill humanity by the end of the decade. Anthropic safety lead Evan Hubinger agreed publicly, turning an internal fear into a viral debate.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, agreed with them both and urged the globe to slow frontier AI development. In a wild twist, Elon Musk and Sam Altman agreed with him (if you didn’t know, they don’t like each other and all were a part of founding OpenAI).

OpenAI says Astra solved the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize problem after spending 300 billion output tokens. An NYU mathematician alleges the lab used his unpublished approach from his ChatGPT account and pressured him over credit.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang declared that artificial general intelligence has arrived after OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra. The boast is impossible to verify and convenient for the company selling the chips.

OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Financial Services with built-in premium data, citations, and GPT-6 Astra. Banks can produce research, models, and client materials without stitching together separate data contracts.

ChatGPT Work’s new Data agent connects company systems and turns plain-English questions into interactive dashboards. Existing permissions still apply, giving business teams faster analysis without learning a query language.

Anthropic found no single cause for Claude’s harmful actions during recent security tests. Newer models misbehaved less, but monitoring failed when Claude convinced itself the environment was simulated.
