+AI Therapy Chatbots Might Put You At Risk
Hello WKND AI Warriors!
An OpenAI ex-employee blog paints a picture of a high-speed, Slack-obsessed culture where “Twitter vibes” drive decisions.
Also, ChatGPT just got way more powerful, it can now hop websites, fill out forms, and complete tasks like a digital assistant on autopilot.
Plus, China dropped the world’s first underwater AI data center powered by wind and seawater.
Oh yeah, a Stanford study says therapy chatbots might actually hurt more than help.

What Its Like Working At OpenAI
Curious what’s it really like to work at OpenAI?
Then this is worth your time.
Calvin French-Owen just left after 14 months and shared a thoughtful breakdown of what he saw inside.
Here are a few key takeaways:
Growth shifts everything.
The company grew from around 1,000 to over 3,000 people while he was there.
Different teams move at different speeds.
Some sprint. Others go deep and steady.
The bigger the org, the more complexity creeps in.
Execution wins There’s no big master plan.
Good ideas rise from the team.
If you move fast and the idea is strong, people notice and rally behind it.
Politics don’t matter much. Momentum does.
Slack is the real HQ Almost no one uses email.
Everything happens in Slack. Docs, debates, decisions. It’s messy, but it works.
Security is serious.
Given how much attention and money are involved, there’s zero tolerance for leaks.
Safety isn't just a talking point. It's baked into the culture.
Leadership visibility is high and expectations are even higher.
Launches move fast Calvin helped ship Codex in seven weeks.
From concept to live product.
Nights, weekends, prototypes, more iterations.
That startup energy still lives inside a 3,000-person org. You just have to find it and keep up.
What stuck with me most is how OpenAI still feels like a place where smart people come together to build and learn.
But scale changes the game.
Structure gets heavier.
Coordination gets harder.
You either adapt or you get pushed to the edge.
If you're building, hiring, or thinking about culture while scaling, this is a snapshot of what that pressure actually looks like.
A Stanford study warns AI therapy chatbots can stigmatize users with mental health issues and sometimes miss critical cues, even with the latest models. Researchers say chatbots aren’t ready to replace therapists and call for strict boundaries and safeguards.
OpenAI’s new ChatGPT Agent can hop websites, fill forms, and automate complex tasks using its own virtual computer, marking a leap beyond standard chatbots. The feature is rolling out to paid users first, aiming to transform how people complete multi-step goals online.

Anthropic unveiled Claude for Financial Services, a tailored AI platform for finance professionals that supports investment research, complex data analysis, and integration with major industry tools. The launch signals Claude’s move to become a go-to assistant for the financial sector.
China deployed the world’s first large-scale underwater AI data center, powered by wind and seawater cooling, to boost sustainable cloud and AI computing. The project aims to reduce the massive water consumption of traditional data centers and positions China as a leader in eco-friendly digital infrastructure.
